My Design Process

During the process of beginning and finishing an assignment, myself like everyone else goes through some sort of process to finish an assignment.

At the beginning
- I take notes
- listen to what the assignment is actually asking for
- do research to similar assignments
- jot down any ideas that first come to mind
- organize my own work space
- take a day or two off to let any ideas build

In the active process
- start linear’s and digitals
- ask some people about certain directions
- once I have a design I like and fits the criteria, go away from it and come back to it to see if it still upholds to my standard

When stuck
- watch TV or movies
- play video games
- hang out with friends
- do more research
- find more inspiration
- take a day or two, and work on other assignments

About Me

Hello, I’m Matthew Pereira a second year graphic designer at Humber College. I’ve always been drawn to art & design, but more so the creative aspect of it in the last few years. I’ve always loved seeing an idea come to shape, and that’s where I think my strengths are. I think and will always think an idea is the strongest thing in design. On the other side of things, I’ve never been a huge fan of social networking. I do understand that’s where the world is moving towards, but it’s never been for me. I’ve always been private and more outspoken and blogging, tweeting, updating, journaling or anything amongst those means have never appealed to me.

Nonetheless I love what I’m doing (most of the time) and trying not to focus on just one part of the job. I don’t know exactly what I want to do, but I know ill get there.
